heated O2 sensor with long tubes

im putting this here cuz no one on in other forums repied....so anyway, why do i need a heated o2 with my long tubes? or do i need one? thanks alot

you typically end up needing a heated o2 because with the o2 sensor several feet downstream in the collector, it may not get hot enough (especially at idle) to work (they ahve to be a certain temp to work), and as such the car goes open loop at idle or any conditions where the sensor isn't hot enough to work correctly.

heated o2 doesn't have this problem.
