Using 27SF512 chips in place of 27C128 & 27C256
Folks,
I was curious about this, so tried it out in my '165. Works fine. Just had to write the code starting at hex C000. Should be good for '730 code starting at hex 8000 as well.
Anyways, just a heads-up. The 27SF512 flash chips work fine as drop-in replacements for everything 27C128 -to- 27C512.
If anyone knows otherwise, let me know. These are nice little chips. I think I'll be offering them in preference to the old Atmel 29C256 ones.
See ya,

I've got em for $5 apiece. They program differently. I have a PDF of the chip at www.moates.net/zips/27SF512.pdf
They have the same pinout in terms of function as a 27C512...
