Anyone using Moates Software plotting functions?
Just curious. Hadn't heard much after the functionality was implemented. I know I use it quite a bit myself, especially when looking for stuff on-the-fly...

OK, it's easy really. When you're logging data out of ECM852 or ECM853 (free software download from www.moates.net) you just hit 'P' and it will pull up the plot functionality. With this you can trend ALDL variables through time real-time and rescale the time & value axes. Once on the P)lot functionality area, you just hit "H" to list the help menu to see what keys do what. Also, you can select what values you want to show. The program gives the max, min, and present value.
Also you can use it to pull up stored *.csv files and show the graphical form of the data. You can scroll through and see what happened when in relation to what else. There's no need for Excel to diddle this kinda stuff. It's built in and 'fairly' efficient.
Anyways, I thought it was kind of a 'hidden' function but useful nonetheless, so wanted to draw attention to it for those that were otherwise unaware.
I'm not saying Datamaster is bad, I think it's real good. My software is free though, so it gives folks just a little more in terms of the neverending struggle to conserve bucks. Works good in DOS too.

I have used it Craig, it makes it easy to watch things on the fly. I like how you can choose what you want to plot too. I think it adds some animation to data logging. It is sometimes to hard to drive and watch all the numbers all over the screen. with the plotting function you can look in one place and see the data you are interested in.

Craig, I'm still using it in ECM851. It works great especially when plotting track runs. You can see the RPM rise and fall along with O2 readings.... its just great!
