PROM help

I have been trying to burn my first prom and I can't get the car to the ignition on position without the fan running all the time. I don't want to try to start the car because obviously something is wrong. I am out of options and was wondering if anyone in the cleveland area would want to meet at a show or any of the local tracks to possibly help troubleshoot adapters/programmer. I have PP2/laptop and tunercat so I am totally mobile. Thanks for any help. -John

If your fans are coming on right when you turn the key on it sounds like you are running in limp home mode. This means that your chip is most likely not working. If you start the car up it should run, probably like s***t, and your check engine light will be on. Where in Cleveland are you at?

Your in limp-home mode. Since your using tunercat, I'll assume your eprom checksum is correct. I would focus your attention on your pocket programmer. Have you tried reading back your stock prom and comparing it to the same bin downloaded from diy-efi ftp bin library? Or reading back your stock chip and trying to program it's contents into another chip and seeing what your ECM does?

Thanks for the help. I got is solved it ended up being a bad adapter from craig moates and something else. What else I'm not sure. Craig moates was great, he sent many e mails and sent me a new adapter for free. Great guy to deal with. I'm in Parma by the way. -John
