Newbie needing minor help! Thanks
Ok I have a '92 Automatic 350 TPI speed density Camaro and do not trust that the previous owner left the stock programming in it. I dont have the time, patience, resources to learn how to burn my own proms, as much as I'd like to (Read: don't try and talk me into it! lol) Anyways, what are some simple flags and such I may want the guy to change before I have him burn it for me? I just want the stock basic programming, no map changes or anything, but I know I want him to disable VATS, and maybe EGR. Should I or should I not have him disable EGR, and what else should I have him do to it? I'm not concerned about emissions. What else should I do? Thanks.

Honestly, I really do want to learn PROM burning and will eventually but can't devote myself to it right now.
Regardless, this is my situation and I need to have one burned for me. I'm not asking for any tuning changes, just some easy convenience things, like turning off VATS and stuff.
I just want to know what easy things I could have him do while he's at it that would be good for the car. I did email the guy I want to do it about it as well, but I don't see anything wrong with asking a whole forum of experts what they recommend as well.
I'm thinking: turn off VATS, maybe EGR (should I?), lower fan turn on/off temps, change TC lockup speed, but I don't know enough. Are there any disadvantages to disabling EGR? (not concerned about emissions). I'm gettingt a 170 deg stat - what should I have the primary and secondary fans turn on/off at? What speed should I set the TC lockup to? What else should I have him do?
Honestly, I will learn eventually, but right now this is the help I need. Thanks.

VATS: Unless you have a problem and can't afford to fix it, leave it alone.
EGR: Do a search, plenty of opinions. I personally think you WANT to use it if possible. The ECM disables it during WOT, so it doesn't cause any power loss. If you are having driveabilty issues, then you may wish to disable it.
TCC: I personally lock it as SOON as possible. Great for gas mileage. Unfortunately the stock TCC is not very good and WOT passes with it lock will shorten it's life. Delaying the lockup will make you slower. The TCC does NOT lock in 2nd gear in WOT anyway. The real solution is to get a GOOD aftermarket TCC like Precision Industires Vigilante.

I do have driveability problems, so i was wanting to just do away with it, one less thing to worry about. But its not going to hurt anything, right? I couldnt find much on disabling it through searching, so that didnt help really. As for the TCC, I'll just leave it alone. I really just dont want to mess with VATS and I dont want it to screw up at an inopportune time, so I'm just going to diable it. I'm going to put a 170 degree stat in, what should i set the fan on/off temps to? Thanks
