$58 Code Programming

First thing is first. I am completly new to programming and i am really struggling. My tuning tools consist of Tuner Cat, Pocket Programmer 2, 29-256 chip and EASE for a scan tool. I recently performed the 7730 - 7749 swap. I have a $58 .bin that has the cylinders changed to 8 and i think the egr is disabled. But i dont know exactly. How can i tell? I have also started the address at 04000. But I am not sure if i am doing this correctly either. Anyway when i start the car i get the service engine light immeadiatly and the car will not even idle. I dont think i burned the chip correctly. Please help me out guys,

I feel you on the being new to programming and struggling. I just got done swapping to the 749 setup this weekend and am just trying to get the thing to idle. Anyway, have you looked through the scantool readings for anything that looks wrong? You may have misplaced one of the pins during the swap. What code is the car throwing?

I will have to check that. There was like seven pins that were moved. But i might have messed it up. Thanks, I will let you know.

You are using a v8 memcal, right?.
The memcal, and cyl select in the code have to match.

Yes, and triple checking the change over wiring, is a given.

4009 is cylinder select.
and 46CD is temp enable for EGR.

The syclones ran 30 PPH injectors, so you'll need to change the table at 440E to reflect the difference, if your not. Changing the injector size has no effect on PW.

730 ECM -------749 ECM
A8------------->A9 (ALDL data) not necessary The 7749 outputs ALDL Data on A8 and A9
C1------------->B12 (VSS output for cruise)
C11------------>C12 (Injectors 1,3,5,7)
C12------------>C11 (Injectors 2,4,6,8)
D6-------------->C13 (Injector ground)
E3-------------->E4 (IAC coil A high)
E4-------------->E3 (IAC coil A low)
E5-------------->E6 (IAC coil B high)
E6-------------->E5 (IAC coil B low)
F1-------------->F4 (shift light) for manual trans
F2-------------->disconnect (AIR pump solenoid)
F6-------------->F4 (TCC) for automatic trans

I wasnt sure what to do with F2 so left it disconnected. Is that OK.
