ERG: how does the ecm control it?

I would like to get a Holley Stealth Ram, and a Commander 950 ECM.

The SR doesn't support EGR, but I am going to see if I can find a way to make it work. Now, the commander 950 doesn't control EGR from what I've read.

I thought an EGR valve was a vacume controlled device? How does the ECM control it?

ECM turns EGR on and off through use of a solinoid that directs vacuum to the valve or not.

I second what he said.

I was always curious what the single wire going to the little porcelien thing on the EGR valve was....

Feedback switch, it is an immersion type thermocouple, as it heats up it generates a small electrical current that is sent to the ECM, this signal lets the ECM know that the requested EGR function happened.
