And yet another newbie question....
I am really wanting to get into burning my own chips. I have a Lap top that is a Pentium 1.2 with XP home. I have been reading bad things about using XP but I have also head things that say XP is ok to use. I have also read that you need this program for this car and this program for that car.......
So here is the scoop:
89 GTA 5.7 TPI auto
XP home lap top
So what software/hardware do I need for this combo?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Brian

you will need a cable to hook up from the laptop to the aldl( can make one or buy it) and then sacanning software, there is a few different ones out there, if u read trax`s intro to prom burning, it will show u were to go and what to use, and of course u will need a chip burner itself and that too u can find in the intro https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/ann...?s=&forumid=16

The pocket programmer software will work fine with XP, I use it at home all the time (with XP pro, but shoudln't matter).
the intro article mentioned above is a great place to start!
I personally use diacom, but Moate's software will also work with either a DIY aldl cable, I think some sell them pre-made too? not sure. but the DIY is easy to assemble.
