AE is derived from calculated BPW then its added on. im not sure exactly how its handled in the 747 but at some point the output of the VE calcutlated PW has to be used in the AE calcs. or added to it. but i cant speak 100% for the 747.

RBob and I just had the talk about this the other day. In the 7747 and 8746 code the injector constant and bpw have nothing to do with AE, only PE mode desired AFR calculations.
AE is added to the final bpw. A classic example of why my AE tuning is near stock and my motor isn't: 28psi of fuel pressure
. In fact I'm running slightly rich with tip in so I'm going to try reducing tps AE and keep the MAP AE as is.
