Can somebody give me some info on this PROM?
I know this may be geared more toward the TPI board, but a lot of guys in there don't know a lot about PROMS, whereas you guys really do, so I think it fits best here. Hope you don't mind.
Anyways, long story short, I didn't trust the crappy off-the-shelf Mem-cal that was in my ECM when I bought the car, so I ran a classified looking for anyone who had the stock one. Somebody answered, we hooked up, and now this is the Mem-cal he gave me: It's a "ANJF" PROM with numbers "4307", "014", "045915", "AG8936B". I did a little search and I believe that this WAS the right chip for my car when it was built (92 TPI 350 Auto), but that now the right chip is an AUJP.
My whole intention was to get a stock, reliable mem-cal that I knew would work right. Now I'm worried that it is inferior and that I should have the AUJP one.
So what are the differences between the two mem-cals, and should I be worried?
Something of note: I'm using a Moates adapter to run a slightly modified AUJP bin, but I still have to use half of that old crappy mem-cal for the ESC and limp-home stuff. I was having trouble with knock and limp-home mode happening for no reason, so all I'm really interested in is if the non-PROM half of the mem-cal will work properly, or should I get the newer AUJP mem-cal?
Thanks guys.

ANJF is the original Memcal for a 1990 SD 350 F-body with an automatic. It was superceeded by the AUJP which is what came on the later 1990 - 1992 SD 350 F-body automatics.
The Netres (electronci circuitry) for the ESC and knock sensor is all correct. You can easily convert this Memcal to an AUJP by simply reprogramming the AUJP bin onto it.
Easy fix if you got (or getting) the eprom burning equipment.

Whats the difference if I may ask?
I've gone through every constant, flag and table in TunerPro comparing the ANJF4703.bin with the AUJP 8D.bin using the Super 8D2 mask, they are identical according to tunerpro everywhere but PROM ID and Checksum, but there are plenty of unidentified items that are not identical, but every known item is the same according to the mask I used(which is supposedly the most complete mask out there for the 8D mask).
Sorry for bumping a dead topic but I thought better than making a new one, and it seems a worthwhile question.
I have a stock '91 GTA 350 and I have the ANJF memcal and right now I have installed moates G1 adapter, I am wondering now if I should start from the stock ANJF or AUJP bin...

Use the newer "AUJP". should always use the newest "proven" software if possible.
there are probably hard code software changes that were made to make something operate better than previous versions did. Probably very small tweaks, but was updated by GM.

OK, thanks! I did run it earlier today with the stock ANJF bin and that made a difference itself, smoother idle and running and seems to run about 100rpms lower at 60mph.
