Thanks, still same problem

Lets see if I can shed more light on this.... I am burning Atmel 29C256 chips in an SPEP-PLUS on win98 with the very early pocket programmer software(came with the burner) It is not win compatible. I have tried 2 different eeproms, I tried to copy the bin from one chip, burn it onto another, and use it. I get a check engine light, no speedo or mileage, etc. I am using a moates adapter with my memcal plugged into that. My original chip(s) work fine, but my copies dont. I do verify the chips after the burn process, and they check out okay. I am a total newbie so I may be missing something obvious. The chip is inserted properly.

Thanks,
Doug
