A 27SF512, takes a 64 Kb file to fill.

You should be able to set the start address, the start of buffer, and end of buffer down in the middle of the page.

I did set the start and end addresses correctly but when burned it causes it to go into limp-home mode. If I stack the bin it does not go into limp-home. I'm running XP-Pro if that makes a difference. I would like to be able to burn without stacking the bin.

I wrote email to the makers of PP2, and what I got from them was that the design of the 27sf512 did not allow for writing to just a portion of the unit. You could only do a complete burn, or nothing at all. I am not sure if this is true, but it does sound very possible. I too didn't want to do the bin stacking, but if you use the bin stacker in tuner pro 3.0 it isn't that bad. It is pretty quick.
I want to ask how many times it takes you to get a good burn to the eeprom? I am using WinXp pro and the PP2 as well. I am running on a 600 mhz PII in a gateway laptop. I have been having varying results when burning to this eeprom type. Sometimes it takes me 3, or 4 times to get a good copy onto the eeprom. PP2 will come up with errors while doing the write. And sometimes it has problems doing the erase. But in the end I always get a good copy - It just takes many attempts. I have turned off all power saving functions in the bios and in the OS. And I have no other programs running in the background. Anybody have experience with this???

Thanks,

Marcello

I have not had a problem yet when erasing or programming the EEPROM. I'm running it on a 2.2Ghz 1Gb RAM Athlon(Barton Core) WinXP Pro machine without closing any of my background programs. I have not tried it on my laptop which is a 300Mhz PII with 96Mb Ram with 2KPro on it. Will post results with that machine when I use it.
