simple idea.!?

I have an idea and if it's possible then maybe it could become a diy kit. The idea is to have a rotary switch inside the car to modify the timing a few degree -/+. Kind of like the msd retard deal but made for the gm distributor(and can increase the timing). How hard would it be to do that? The two ways my retarded *** thought of was to tap into the "timing" wire from the ecm or wire the box to a spare input on the ecm or something. (I'm aware of the realtime devices, BTW. This is for fast diag/tuning)

thoughts???

that one goes from 1-15*.... I was talking about one that went from like -5 up to 5-10* of timing..that worked with the stock computer.

It does exactly what you want. I use to have one similar.

Set the timing of your car while the **** of the control is on +5. You can now go -5 to +10. It works with the stock GM distributor and is specifically made for external coil applications.

Bailey Eng., has that incorporated into the Translators +.
Also recurves the MAF.
But, the 3rd Gen community didn't show enough interest for him to do a 165 version.
