Code disassembly step 1
Good grief, this is so new to me, I'm having trouble formulating my question.
I've never even attempted to disassemble code before.
Here goes anyway. I downloaded a HC11 disassembler (from "cutting edge", or something like that).
I have an executeable file now. When I open it, I get a few lines that describe the switch functions, and a rough example at the top on switch useage. At the top of the window it says "finished".
Funny, I wasn't finished.
Anyway, tried opening a DOS window, went to the dir where the disassembler exe is. Tried abt every combination I could think of, but nothing. Seems like "ver1.bin -in" should do something, but nothing happens.
I'll be hooking up with someone that knows how to do this stuff in a couple of days, but wanted to get my feet a little damp at least.
If I could just get to the point where I see stuff like "0009 d002 86 ec LDAA #236
" I'd be happy.
I've downloaded the HC11 reference manual and read thru it.
The instruction set makes a little sense, but I can't seem to get to the point where I can use the instruction set yet.
I realize this post must sound pretty silly, but I'm stuck.
