Didn't know where this belonged exactly, so I figured I'd post it here.

I have DSL at my home. It feeds from a phone jack to a converter and a CAT5 cable supplies the desktop from the converter.

I wanted to download some tuning programs to my laptop, but it doesn't have a port that accepts the CAT5 cable.

Is there an adapter I can use?

Thanks

Not cheap, or easy, but I gave up on trying to run things seperately. So I got a router, and a couple PCMIA cards, so I can plug in any combo of things, and link them all together.

So if I want to work at the ecm bench, I can do that without carring discs around, or sit in the recliner, all I have to do is drag a cable over to it. Wireless probably would have been better, but I like the security of hardwiring things.

what os's are you running? you can try to run a serial/parallel lanlink connection. it'll be slow, but if ya gotta do it, ya gotta do it.

or you can download on the desktop, burn the proggies to a cd, and then load them on the laptop.....don't tell me you dont have a cd burner...
