EGR enable temp question
My dad has a 92 Vert 305/5 spd
We installed headers and swapped to a 3.42 disc brake rearend.
I went ahead and burned a stock AXXD bin and threw that in the car. Only change was lowering the fan temp settings
Now the car idles in open loop. I assume too things, that the car is running too cool, or the jet hot coated headers are interfering with the O2's ability to ground.
Also, car picked up a bunch of knock counts (59 to be exact). I attributed that to the headers but....... Problem could be two fold
I burned a chip raising the fan temps to about 190 from 180. Car ran better, less knock counts (15 KC's)
Now this got me thinking...... EGR is activated at certain temp. Would lowering that temp instead of raising the fan temp settings be more beneficial?
I've never had to tune a car with all the emmissions stuff on it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know what the blms look like, but since its a stock car, with a stock bin in good tune, I didn't bother with the laptop and just used my auto xray.
