Ebay ALDL Cables?
I found this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2462778675
And another from mastach.com. A search here reveals that the mastach.com one isn't very good. But what about this other one?
there's also this one:
http://www.customefis.com/cableorder.html
Both cost about the same. Recommendations?
Thanks.

I've been using the Mastach cable since Nov of 03 and have not had any problems yet. Just to let you know.
Talk to Mike at mike@s10wildside.com I have one of his units and am very satisfied. He sells them on ebay from time to time. He also builds custom wiring harnesses. Definatly worth talking to.

lets put it this way:
im selling ALDL cables for $30...+shipping (like a dollar or 3 depending on where you are and if you want insurance) and im making about $25 a cable.
you can realisiticly make one for $5 if you know how to solder.
its a couple resistors, one transistor, a plug, some wires and a way to connect to the ALDL pins.
now you'll have to ignore the tape on the connector... this was my first cable, and i was going to put it inside the serial connector and have just the wire going to pins.....
but then i thought of the box idea and i like it much better.
and heres what it looks like installed on a car.
you just push the box onto the ALDL connector, and the pins slide right in..

I just built this one yesterday and it woks fine. I am a clutz at soldering, and still managed to build it.
Just take your time and ask questions.
I bought everything I needed to build it for under 5 bucks.
