Will a serial mouse cable work for an aldl cable?

I have a MS serial mouse, can I use the cable from this to make an aldl cable? it only has 4 wires so i'm not sure if that matters. thanks

I am sure you can use the cable....but not too sure about the actual DB9 plug, it all depends on how its wired(using the correct pin out) and I would be surprised if it was correct.

This is just a guess mind you, so I wouldn't rely on my opinion alone.
