What year Distributor - 7730
I have a mechanical HEI running my Howell - TBI 4Barrel with a '7730.
What year computer controlled HEIs will work?
Will any KNOCK controlled (did this start in '82) HEI work?
Or MUST I use a '86 - '92 HEI?

Transmission: several, mostly broken
Any computer controlled V8 HEI dist will work; doesn't really matter what year, or if the donor car had a knock sensor or not.
Large cap (internal coil) or small cap (external coil), doesn't matter, other than that the connectors are different.
FYI, when the F-body TPI cars switched to the small cap in '86, the Y-bodies continued to use the older style large cap HEI.
I've run my '730 TPI car with both.
