1320 burn

I have been reading a number of threads in this forum and it seems there are some very knowlageable and experianced folks aout there.

Here is my question: If you were to burn a MAF prom for strictly drag racing what parameters would you set?

A great many of the discussions on this board seem to be centered around extra power and good drivability.....not interested in drivability, I want it to idle, and make all the power it can for between 9 and 13 seconds then idle again.

Thank you gentilmen

Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
test test test, tune tune tune tune

Is no magic number:-)

comes down to the proper timing with the proper fueling no matter what your application is. Street or strip

What type of engine, what type of car, and ecm used all influence the above.

Check the stickies and start from there
later

PS theres lots of fast cars that folks here drive too

that applies to any engine set up for racing. what i'm looking for is a baseline. obviously the stock program is not a good baseline for what i want to do. and if i can get alittle help on building a *** baseline that would be nice. suggestions on things to eliminate, ballpark timing and fuel ratios...that kind of thing. it is not uncommon for racers with carbs to share jetting and timing info.

now for the specs, the car is a 85 Z28 HT all steel.
tires 26.5X12X15 goodyear D-compound slicks.
3.24:1 posi rear end altho this will be changed to 4:11 with a spool soon
700r4 trans 2500rpm lock-up TC and shift kit
engine is a 357 (.040 over 350)
12.5:1 speed-pro pistons
4340 H-beam rods
custom lunati cam .509lift/225deg-Intake .541lift/235deg-Exaust
@.050 lift
World (Merlin) Iron heads 2.02I 1.60E flow 242cfm-I 171cfm-E
Ported TPI intake
BBK 1100 cfm throttle body
'165 computer stock 305prom and MAF

for consistency between 1320 runs, I would start by disabling closed loop mode... or at the very least make sure the power to the ECM is toggled between chips to make sure the BLMs are reset to 128.
