maf diag

I am still messing with this mafless car and have a question. If I disable the maf diagnostic code does that effect the tps/rpm default table or maybe use maf/bpw table?. I got the ses light to stay off w/o maf. The car didn't run very good at all with the maf error disabled...

Time for an ecm bench, and digging alot deeper into the code. Doing stuff like this without first running it on a bench can lead to surprises, some that you might not want to see the results of.

I only answer guestions that I know, or research ones that seem to be those that might serve a purpose for the common good. When you go off trail blazing, don't be surprised if you don't get an answer to some of the guestions you might run into.

When you want to seriously do something one of a kind, you need to get a group effort together, or just realize you're going it alone.

Group efforts need to be blessed by *** to work out. I'm aware that nobody is going to follow me down the path I'm on. I know what you are saying though. It's really sad to see this hobby stuck in the same spot for years. If I knew assembly language the I would do ANYTHING to help. The only thing I can do now is report what I find on my car bench(s).

One thing I learned is to make 100% sure of info before putting it out there. The way I see it is the code readers are on the sideline, that means this GM stuff is not progressing. Then you have guys spreading misinformation that puts this hobby back in time. Two things working together to kill this scene.

I'm thinking about making an ecm bench. Can't afford $160 to buy saturn5's nice setup. Seems like I'll just need an ecm, diag cable and simulate the sensors....?

Something major does happen when the maf diag is switched off. The car didn't want to start or run. Drove it a few miles and though the problem was that switch. I changed the switch back on and the car ran good. It seems that something is going on with that switch..
