Arap

I've just downloaded the ARAP bin to my Prominator. I've been told thats the bin is for an 89 Corvette. Here's my question, Before installing this bin my car was over reving at the top of 3rd gear at the end of the 1/4 mile. I know that the 700R4 in a 3rd gen. won't shift 4th gear at WOT only 2/3's or less. I also know that the 700R4 will shift 4th at WOT in an 89 Corvette. So is this ARAP bin my fix or do I need to get the B&M upshift Kit# 70249? I'd like to find out before going to the track and I havent had time or had a place to bring the car upto over 100MPH to find out for myself. Thanks Eric

The cure is getting the right GM parts, for the tranny. I forget the exact differences, but you really want to get all the vette parts. I went thur 4 trannies a decade ago, trying to get a proper WOT 4th gear. The shift modifier valve and servo are also worth while items.

The ARAP is a vette chip so it'll just give the matching TCC functions for the WOT 4th gear..

Thanks Grumpy. I'll get the proper upshift kit for the tranny.

Since the 700R4 is a mechanical automatic unlike the later 4L60E you need the Corvette servo.

Servo
