BLM cells in $58?

I take it the $58 code does not support the use of BLM cells in its programming or do I have something wrong in my settings?

Has two cells, 0 & 1. Cell zero is for idle and cell 1 is for cruise. If not moving then check the BLM learn enable temperature.

I can't get out of cell zero....logs never show cell 1 being used. I've checked the enable parms, and TunerPro logging shows learn control enabled. Any ideas?

Cell 0 is used when the TPS is below a calibratable (hysteresis) threshold. Are you having any problems with your sensor?

TPS is working fine and the aldl logs show proper function. The values for that hysteresis pair are at the "factory" bbzb bin values:
KF4TPS1 F4 Tbl Closed Throt Thrshld, Upper of Hyst. Pair 3.52 %
KF4TPS2 F4 Tbl Closed Throt Thrshld, Lower of Hyst. Pair 2.34 %

I'm really stumped....

Are you looking at Byte 19 or Mode Word 2 / Bit7? I've never seen Byte 19 actually "work". But, I know the BLMs change by looking at the log file and MW2.

Looking at the address in the calibration ($0459), I'm not sure what it's supposed to be pointing to......?? My guess would have been a bit in address $0059. But I've never really looked into it. Maybe this would be a good "spare" word to use for something else!

Hope this helps.....

Thanks! That was it...I was looking at ALDL byte 19. Mode word 2 bit 7 shows the cell changing properly.

When MW2-7 is set (idle cell) does this also mean the VE term lookup is from F29E, the closed throttle VE table? If the state of MW2-7 does indicate which VE table is in use, then it would sure simplify sorting logfiles for VE table tuning.

Generally, that is true. From a quick look at the code, it appears to first check the same "closed throttle" status as is used to switch BLM cells. Then, there's a secondary check of engine speed. It would appear that the RPM must be below 1600 RPM *and* throttle closed in order to use the Closed Throttle VE table. If the engine speed is too high, the Open Throttle tables are used. I would imagine this would only come into play when the throttle is first closed at a high RPM before the RPM can come down....? For more steady state operation, this shouldn't be a problem.
