VE Tuning W/O IAC
Is it best to limit the IAC when tuning VE tables, or should this only be done while tuning the idle?
Some threads don't mention it; just wondering what works best/easiest.

Just coming just off idle as the IAC opens you may need a slightly rich spot in the VE table, since you can't tune in enough AE just off idle to cover that.

Once all is said and done, should the IAC be returned to normal function, or have its steps limited?
Thanks

If you have a flat spot just off idle, and in looking at the data logs see the IAC opening, then you might have to allow for that in the VE table. Your just not likely to be able to add enough low TPS AE to cover it up.

Another option is to minimize the impact of the IAC by decreasing the throttle follower gain. This will decrease it's affect when cracking the throttle. If you want the best of both worlds then also increase the total steps in drive and you'll get less opening at normal throttle levels but MORE opening at WOT. Check my last post in the "Super AUJP" post for the additions that I made to that starting binary.
