Throttle response, Stutter mid RPM range.
Looking for someone to point me in the right direction. I need to read up on how to tune for throttle response and also how to get rid of a mid rpm stutter. The stutter usually happens around the shift points as well as when I high ride the gears. I have a MSD 6AL in there and Accel 8.8mm wires, brand new plugs etc. I tend to thing that the spark tables are doing this since they were pretty close for my Iron heads. However, with the AFR 195's I think the spark is not even close. I was using a basically stock ARAP table but thats not cutting it. Car idles fine with the 22-23* advance reading on the ECM851 scan tool i am using.. purrs like a kitten with idle set at 850ish and a 228*/234* cam.

Exactly! Thats where I am at now. I even reasoned it out last night. I figured the ARAP came from an 87-89 'vette. They had aluminum heads. They had 58cc chambers. I have 64 cc chambers on aluminum heads. I have 10.1:1 Static CR, they had... I dunno what they had. Which is the key to understanding the mechanical part of it. I guess what I am looking for is to know if I need to add more spark through the various tables or less spark or more fuel or less fuel as well as how much of a change, all relative to the unknown variable that this is my motor and not someone elses, I need to make in order to see (feel/hear) if things are working. I can say this, I get relatively few knock counts. On a 15 minute drive home last night I recorded 22 knock counts. I had 16 at startup. Meaning that I am doing pretty good. Then I changed the inj. constants to get the BLM's into a more workable range ( I was anywhere from 135-148 at cruise) so now they're closer to the 128/128. Car runs smoother, I can see that. Its a step in the right direction. However the stuttering is what bugs me. I am almost of a mind to take the MSD out of the equation for testing purposes only and see if that takes care of it. If not then its a tuning related issue. I do have a day job though to I cant do it until tonight. I'll rule out mechanical causes, so can you point me in the right direction to other peoples experiences with stutter at mid RPM range cruising not in PE mode?

You mean looking at the 3d graph? Or the 2D graph? I am running a stock table. Nothing changed that I know of. I'll compare later but I think its stock as stock can be.
Thanks!
