Injector - how deep into runner?

Hi,

I got my injector bungs cut down to the point where the tip of the injector is jut a hair into the runner itself.

I was thinking of cutting the bung down a little bit more. How far into the runner is "too far".

Remember, this is a carb manifold, so there isn't a wall around the injector. It just starts sticking into the runner..

i think i remember reading something like up to an 1/8 inch on either side of the runner plane, is where you want to have the injector tip. Either slightly recessed or slightly protruding, probably not a huge deal either way, since some injectors have a fan pattern, and others have a squirt gun parttern. If the injector tip is just breaking into the runner, I'd say leave it at that.

Yeah my lowest one is about 1/8". I'll finish grinding them flat today. then start on the rail brackets.

Thanks.

At lower RPM, the fuel is just being blown against the runner floor so no big deal about how accurately you place it. At high rpm the fuel doesn't touch the floor, and again the pattern/exact location is no big deal.
