I've wasted all the money I'm going to on battery operated soldering devises. They just don't have enough mass for doing any harness type work. Might be OK for PCB stuff, but a good soldering station seems to be a OK solution for doing them.
Batteries are for flashlights, and toys....

There's a butane one available if you haven't seen it yet. We have one at work, and it does a decent job. A lighter refill bottle and a striker (That comes with it) are all that's needed. But yeah, I still use the plug in one if close to an extension cord.
