just downloaded tunerpro, where can I upload my bin for my car
Im new to this prom burning stuff and my curiousity for it told me to download tunerpro to my home PC so I could "play with its features" and get familiar with its layout. I do not have have any prom burning stuff or anything YET and I would like to know where I can find the correct bin for my car to download to the tunerpro so I can take a peek at whats inside it. if i see it there then I may have a better understanding of what the heck you guys are talking about in here. my car is a 1991 z28 speed density. the 4 letter code on my prom is AXYZ. I am also using a custom piggyback prom from Fastchip. does that code look correct for a 350tpi I had a little trouble gettig a new prom from the dealer(go figure) when I switched from the 305tpi/T5 to the 350tpi/t56. which engine does that code belong to? also, is it even possible to find that bin and even get it to load into the tunerpro program here on my home computer.
Im currently trying to decide on which hardware is best for me to get into this DIY stuff. I think my first tool is the Zextronics(sp) LM-2 WBO2 sensor with LCD display. Am I headed in the right direction here.

Ok The first thing You need is to know how the car is actually running. Do you have a Scanner to hook to the car and DataLog to see what the car is actually doing. If You don't have a Scanner you will need one or at least a Cheap LapTop And them Buy or build a ALDL Cable, and Data Logging Software (tuner Pro) or (Moates ECM852). With that info you get from data logging you can post and Get opinions on where to start tunning. You Will also need a Prom Programmer. (PPII), (Flash N' Burn) or you can go the Emulator Route and go with (AutoProm) or (Prominator) also a moates Prom Adapter or a Socketed Memcal SO you can eaisly Remove the EEPROM to Make Changes in your Bin. After you have made it this far then I would Look into getting a WB02.

ok so then its safe to say that I should look into buying a used laptop with the money I would have used to buy a WB02 correct?Im headed over to Craigs site now to look over what he has to offer me.
I have been in search for the "cheap" laptop that will strictly be used for tuning. the thing will actually stay in the car. with that said, whats the minimum requirments I need to have inside the laptop in order for it to run properly? Is there a particular laptop that the DIY tuners "prefer" over the others out there?
and as for the actual memcal thing, I think I am gona use that setup that Moates has that I dot have to do any soldering or anything.
I really appreciate the info.
