ALDL not working with Tuner Pro RT
I tried to hook my laptop up to my car yesterday with Tuner Pro RT before I tried to start my new engine, but I wasn't able to. Whenever I click on ALDL/Data Logging, or even on Preferences, nothing happens. There is no window coming up. I can still modify bin files, thats working fine. What I haven't been able to fix is the ALDL utility. I am running Windows 95 on my laptop, in case the OS matters. I have reinstalled it twice and rebooted. No success.
I tried running it on my desktop which is running XP, and everything functions as it should.
I went to the website, and downloaded the most recent version of the software, and tried it all over again, but nothing improved.
Has anyone had this problem before? I don't know what to try next. I don't really know anyone who I can borrow a laptop from.
If I don't get this fixed soon, I'm gonna have to drag my desktop outside, and I would rather not do that.

Well win95 has no usb so it can't be the usb drivers, your using DB9...
Something is wrong with this because when you click datalogging in the menu the window should atleast popup, same for preferences and anything else for that matter. Do you have all of the windows updates for win95 installed?
Maybe there is a known issue with TunerPro on win95
Try posting on the TunerPro board on his site maybe...

Correct, I'm using a DB9 cable. The problem is I can't even get to a point where the cable could be a problem. There is no window that pops up when I click on preferences or on ALDL/data logging.
I just remembered I have an old Pentium 1 desktop in a closet somewhere that also has win95. I'll drag it out tomorrow and test it on that. I'll see if it works on that one.
I don't have any windows updates installed. I have the laptop solely for ALDL purposes, so I never really saw much use for downloading updates for it.
I'll see if he has anything on his site in regards to this issue, and I'll look through his message board. Hopefully I'll find something useful.
