How do you tell if you have an aftermarket prom?

How do you tell if you have an aftermarket prom?

I have been pondering this and want to check for myself. I think my engine was built about 8 years ago considering my older supercharger and the date on the accel ligenfelter intake papers I have....the previous owner did not know for sure if it did or not but doubted it.

Open up the ecm and look at the memcal. An aftermarket chip should be attached to it. Thats the way it is for mine. I switched from 85 MAF system to 90-92 Speed density ecm and prom so I can't remember what the setup looks like for MAF.
