Dynoing tomorrow...Will Diacom in ALDL hurt power?

I'm taking my car to be dyno tested tomorrow. If I datalog the pulls with Diacom will it hurt my total power? I don't know that much about the program...does it cause the car to run in ALDL mode?

On the bottom of the screen, is *mode*, click on that, then *normal*, and then link, Diacom will be invisible to the ecm.

All mine has is diagnostic and ALDL mode....which do I want? I'm leaving in 10 min. If I don't know I'll run one in diagnostic and a pull with nothing .

On MAF cars, there is no "Normal" like SD cars. You need to choose "ALDL" - Diagnostic Mode is intended when you have a problem and need to override certain sensor readings.

ALDL Mode also does slightly alter the engine when connnected, but not enough to seriously affect anything. Besides, you have no choice if you want a "scan" while on the dyno. Especially, if you want to see if any detonation is occuring and how much timing it is pulling out.

Yeah I ran 1 pull in ALDL mode......too bad the car ran horrible. Ever since the night after I did my chip tuning it's been running worse and worse. I only put down 265 horse and 334 torque on my pull. I could only make one cause it started leaking coolant somewhere...might just be the lower hose though.

I'm wondering if I'm having problems because I still have the romulater plugged in instead of the actual chip right now??
Otherwise I'm gonna start checking for things like a blown head gasket or something.

When I was helping a buddy tune his MAF car, we had a Romulator, Diacom and WB all hooked up. We did a "pre-tune" on a long hill to try and get the spark and AF ratio where we felt we wanted it to be before the actual dyno run.

No problems using any of the equipment.
