Making Sense of Datalogging
Alright, Im new to the PROM thing, just bought a cheap laptop and a cable. On my way home from work yesterday, my car started knocking, and also has a squeal to it. The oil pressure is at an all time low, almost in the red now. Anyways, I plugged the laptop in, and anything above 2k, it pulls timing, alot, up to 20* (max it will read). i have never heard a car that had a knock before, so I wasnt sure what to make of it. My dad says it doesnt sound like a typical knock, and he thinks it has something to do with the computer (hes against all things computer related) i was thinking maybe a bad est or ks, but would it pull that much timing? Im really confused

It's not the computer. Sorry about the luck. Find a roller 350 core or crate engine and swap it in. My guess - rod bearing has spun.
