speed limiter questions
i have a 94 trans am 5.7 lt1 . the only mods i have done is put 3.23 gears under it . the car came stock with 2.73 . here's the problem, the car shuts down at 110 mph. but that an inaccurate reading because of the lower gears . so top speed is about 85 mph. if i put a ecm out of a trans am gt (which has no limiter) will that get rid of the 110 limiter? i know about the hypertech but they cost a lot of $$ . any help would be great

DIY I know you can change the constant to eliminate the limiter but I thought you had to change the drive/driven gears at the tailhousing to recalibrate the speedo? Or buy some sort of electronic recalibrator?
Also, you have a 94 TA and wouldn't really fall under the 'thirdgen' board.
What year TA GT are you planning to get the ecm from that has no limiter?

www.tunercat.com has the software.
http://www.akmcables.com/ic.htm has the cables.
You'll need to check if you diagnosic connector is OBD 1 OR 2.
94-95 is a transition year and GM use both connectors. So for the total cost of about $150, you can fix the speedo problem. Since you'll have the software you might as well tune the ecm for more power.
