When doing the *bargain* stuff, never be surprised when it fails, IMO. It might work well, but, I've given up trying to *beat the system*.
For the quality and service, personally, I can't see dealing with anyone other then the Prominator, AutoProm/Ostrich, folks.

Another difference that's seldom called out in the advertisement is whether or not you have to reset the system whenever a change is made to the "program". It seems most of the lower cost devices are simply a flash chip/programmer-in-one. Granted this is still probably a step up from EPROMs for most. But, not as functional as the change-on-the-fly systems. Not surprisingly, the cost goes up with the functionality you get!

I have a $500 emulator, that's just junk as far as trying to use it in a car (heck, it's junk even on the bench).

.I like the ostrich, would have gotten it if it had come out a year ago. My laptop has 4 USB ports and no serial
. I've got 3 serial devices I like ot use
.The RadioShack USB-Serial works great! Only it can cause a blue screen of death when working with lockers and you don't first unplug the serial cable. For some reason when you shut down the port with stuff in the buffer (in usb virtual buffer) it freaks out the windows XP.
