1227165 burnoff code
1227165 burnoff code
Help!!
I have a 1227165 ecu with the ACXT eprom in it.
Problem...
After it gets hot and you turn it off the ECU performs a burnoff on the afm to clean it. This is working but the ECU does not know it has done it and brings on code 34 and leaves the check light on from next startup. I have checked the ECU wiring with a diagram and it appears correct. It is a retrofit system and has done this from day dot.
Any ideas anyone??Or can I just turn off the code??
The owner just wants it out of limp mode.

Is it $6E code I think you can turn off code 36.
Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor burnoff failure. TPI only. After vehicle shutdown, a burnoff relay is activated which heats up the MAF sensor wire in order to burn off any deposits that may have collected on it. When this occurs, the ECM will sense 12 volts in the relay ground wire. When it does not see this voltage, it assumes that the relay has failed, or there is an open in the circuit.

This appears to be working correctly.
The relay gets its earth from the ecu breifly about 5 sec after switchoff. The voltage on my voltmeter goes 12v-0v-12v.
the relay does put 12v onto the afm power supply and the burnoff wire BUT the afm output voltage is 5v-.3v-5v during burnoff. This seems strange. The voltage output is ok when engine is running.
