6E vs. 32B masks -- newbie question --

Hi guys, I have found out thusfar, with the help of the board members, that the bin file for my custom chip I'm currently running is written for the 32B mask. It looks like this mask was used for 87-88, and 89 got the 6E mask. The 6E looks to have many more parameters that the computer can control. Is the 6E a more powerful mask to use for a custom, fairly radical engine, or should I stick with the 32B? The 1987 computer is the same part # as the 89, and the chip # is the same as well, so I should have no problem using the 6E with my setup, right?

There have been many post about 32B vs 6E, do a search....

But I think the most people switch over to 6E code when start tuning.......or 8D...........

GTA thanks. I have been sifting through many diy efi posts on this board. There have been so many similar questions asked (and I know I'm adding to that!) that one can spend hours trying to find exactly the same question in someone else's historical post. 6E it is, I'm working on version 1.0 as we speak. It's really exciting how many things the 6E controls. Having a carb is like giving up all control and saying, pour some fuel down er', she'll run somehow! Don't care what the temperature, vehicle speed, engine speed, or engine load is!

And somehow carbs always work pretty well. ...Hopefully I'll say the same for multiport efi when I have some burns under my prom belt.
