Can't find an ABYA .bin....gotta few questions

I preparing to start tuning my car when my PROMinator gets here. I have been looking around for a ABYA .bin so I could reference the timing table info because I was going to use that for an ARAP bin. Is there a similar bin that uses the "stock" timing tables, since I hear the ARAP timing tables are pretty aggressive?

I'm having problems with what I believe is false knock and don't want to run anymore timing until I get the knock issue taken care of. I think it is the exhaust hitting the oil pan, but it is retarding the crap out of my timing and my old knock sensor is being a pain to remove.

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

IMO, get the mechanicals right first. Having a K/S will save you countless hours in yanking plugs looking for detonation.

I was going to replace it with a new K/S and see if that helped any. I also think my old K/S is in the block to tight making it more sensitive because I couldn't budge it with a ratchet/socket combo. I'll have to drop the starter and possibly the exhaust to get enough room and leverage with the channel locks to pry that sucker loose. I'm sick now though so I don't have to worry about doing anything to the car for awhile.

I have the ABYA bin if you still need it. Send me a PM or email
if you still need it.

I was (still am) trying to figure out false knock. I think my scan tool was the source of the problem!

PS you have the same exact ride I have!

Very well may be. A 10K across A & B on the ALDL will cause the ECM to add timing. Unless that cal term is zero'd out.

Yea I think you got it right. I been using scan tool from Ease Diagnosics, for a long time, until late last summer/fall. I learned the hard way they use ALDL mode ONLY to connect to the ecm and get data. So I tried TunerPro last year and saw very little spark knock under heavy loads. With my homemade interface, i put in a switch to take out the 10k after connect, and I still get data. Sometimes would even connect up without the 10k!!

So going forward I will be using TunerPro more often!
