DIS options for 7730 with boost..

The only bin that I know of for this combo is the $8F from the turbo Grand Prix's, which I currently don't have an ECU file for.. (hint hint.. )

As well, has anyone got the the $58 or $8D code to run a DIS style ignition system?

Any hint's/thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks,

I've run my GN (DIS) on the 58 code.

Just need to look at the timing offset, max, and min timing figures from what ever module you're going to use.

Yea, that makes sense.. Now that I think about it, both ignition types are stand alone, and use the ecm for advance/retard only.. Hrm..

So, in your app, you didn't have to patch the bin, just tweak the spark reg angle and timing tables?

Thanks for the info!

Ya, once ya get the answer it usually makes sense.

In mine, it was a matter of using a ref angle of 70d, and then swapping the max adv, and max retard values. Only took looking a couple dozen hacs to make sure which way, what was, and then actually trying it...

Nope.....

How did you come up with a ref angle of 70 degrees? 60 degrees would put #6 and #3 cyl at TDC instead of 1 and 4 would it not? Then add the usual 10* advance to get your 70?

What is the point of swapping max adv and max ret? Max adv is 46.76 and max ret is 0... Can you give me some more hints?

Thanks again for the info!

I believe that the ref angle is based on your sensor location.
So it's application specific.

Ahh, so it's the difference between when the crank sensor sees the sync notch and when #1 cyl is at TDC..

Thanks!
