Timing issues - need help with studder
Ok, I installed the cam retainer that wasn't installed to begin with, and now the car performs much better. However I have a studder at around 1600rpm that is almost like i'm bouncing the gas peddle (which i am not). I have a log here, if anyone would be willing to look at it. My WOT tuning is way off too i'm sure.

From the datalog, it looks like your picking up alot of P/T detonation, according to the K/S, anyway. Every time you give it even modest throttle, the ecm pulls timing because its seeing knock. Given that you just got the setup together, Id operate under the assumption that it really is detonation and try to get the fueling correct and work with the timing.
Keep in mind that each 'count' there is really counts x 256. That means that with only one or two additional counts in a data log youll still loose a couple of degrees of timing there.
If the surging happens when the car is warmed up it could be the PID stuff for the O2 not being quite right. Mine has a surge in closed loop as well, albiet not quite as bad. Have closed loop disabled due to my D/S header having a large crack in it and the engine runs nice and steady in open loop.
Bascially it needs to be tuned.
