Injector Constant

22.36 lbs/hr @ 40psig is what the stock computer chip has for my car (89 350 TPI). I have 24 lb/hr SVO injectors in. I hear they are rated at 43psi. I have read where I need to change my injector constant to reflect the injector change....

Do I just set it to 24 and call it good, and let the computer do the rest for me? or what?

Thanks
TC

Everything I have read rate them at 39 psi, without vacuum.

If you set them at 43 psi, you need to use an injector constant of 25.2.

Nope, use the stock 43 psi setting and an injector constant from 24-24.5 should get u pretty close to the ballpark :-)

Ran 2 sets of these on my vehicles and some more on friends cars.

Do some searching and you will find that this myth was debunked :-).

I did a little searching and found on page 102 of the Ford Performance Products catalog that their "injectors are flowed at 40 psi differential pressure". http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...gs/2005-pp.pdf

Accel's catalog (page 231) states a stock Ford setting is a "static" pressure of 39.6#, and most GM are set at a 44.1# static pressure. http://go.mrgasket.com/pdf/ACCELfuelinjection.pdf

Are "static" and "differential" one in the same when defining an injector's flow rate? At least for purposes of setting an injector constant. Ed

I believe what 3.8 was referring to was recent flow tests done by Rich at Cruzin Performance. Of the many SVO injectors that come through his shop for cleaning/rebuilding....they spec out at 24lb/hr at 43psi...
