Turn off EGR in 6E

Guys, How do I effectively turn off the EGR function. I want to check to see if my car idles better without it active. How does it physically shut off? Does the computer shut off the vacuum Selenoid?

Set the EGR enable temperature as high as possible. Or, in the case of MAF ECMs, relocate the MAT to the intake air stream.

I got a box that says "Disable EGR if MAT < X". It's set to ".50".

Is that what you are talking about?

Yes, set it to disable EGR if MAT is less then 150 C. MAT: Manifold Air Temperature.

Does the computer shut this off by stopping the EGR selenoid?

Will the car run differently?
