very rich during PE

I just installed trickflow heads, and a zz4 cam and I have been trying to tune this setup. I am using a 32b mask and moates ostrich. When I enter PE my WB is reading between 8-9 afr. In the Power Enrichment vs RPM table I have decreased the values in there by as much as 15 percent points yet my WB will still reads between 8-9 afr. If my ecm is retarding spark would that cause a rich PE?

I had the same problem running the 6E mask with a gutted MAF (screens and fins removed). I changed the MAF scalars at the lower flowrates to get close to a BL of 128 then extrapolated the new calibration curve to the higher flowrates. This amounted to about a 15% change in the scalars and thus the calculated airflow and load for a given vehicle state. I'm not familiar with the 32b mask but if you're running a gutted MAF, this would be something to consider. And yes, I see richer readings when removing timing at WOT without changing any other parameters.

Thanks for the reply Mark, during part throttle all my blms are between 120-130, and my MAF screens are not cut out. I just took the car out again and started logging with winaldl during PE it is not registering any knock(maybe because of all the fuel). I have done some searching and found a thread to calculate how much to change the values in the Power Enrichment vs RPM table and the equation produces a number equal to -50 and up. This just seems like to big of a reduction in fuel. Is there anyone else that can help me?

That's insanely rich. The factory cals usually put it in the 11's. WB's shouldn't even register 8-9's. What kind of wideband are you using? If you don't max out the MAF, then only about 17-20% of TOTAL PE (warm engine) is needed (make sure it's calculated correctly, not all .ecu's have it right). But, if you do max it out (255 g/s), extra PE is used to cover up the missing airflow reading in order to keep the same A/F.

how do i see if the ecu is calibrated correctly? before the heads and cam where put in the ecu was calculating the AFR correctly.
