Knock Retard when the converter locks?

I tried searching for this problem, but it seems no one has encountered it before? When my torque converter locks @ 50kpa the knock sensor goes balistic and pulls 4 degrees and as load increases even more. When it's unlocked everything is just fine. This only happens when the converter is locked and rpms are between 1400-1600 rpms. Any ideas on what might be happening? I'm running $8D and the S-AUJP2 bin file. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I'd guess the engine is knocking under the increased load when the converter locks.

As far as the mounts their just the stock replacement rubber ones. I don't really know about the clutch its an ACT 2500 stall but thats all i know. It came with my pro-built tranny. I'm running the stock converter lockup points right now also... I had hoped to grab a log file of the run i made where it does this but my floppy drive is acting up on the laptop... Today just doesn't seem to be my day.

I tried all kinds of things :-)

I have logged the same experience on my GTA( stock) and my Formula(when stock and modded). I never did come to a solid conclusion other than the sudden change of load :-)

Playing with the TCC lock/unlock tables seemed to do the most good..

Basically I leace the mph realitively low, ie: where i can keep the car at a steady speed on a flat road(no lock/unlock from creeping up in mph) and adjust the tables from there, basically if you are at a lighter tps position, it will lock up, but if you are on the gas, the lockup will delay until u reach higher speeds or let off the gas.

Playing with them should help alleviate some of this, not completely eliminate it, but it should help

later
