IAC Update

I installed one of these a few days ago, and the difference is impressive.

The newer IACs are slightly different, and for me, it was just another small step in reaching perfection. It took a little tuning of the decay rates, filters, and IAC count limits, but, the gains were nice.

For those of you that have fought the IAC, this might be your answer. With it I was able to drastically reduce how much the pintle had to move, and how fast the counts would decay out. Now, instead of having to run a *0* IAC count at idle to get a stable rpm, I run 4-6, and it's glass smooth, and stable.

While the TBI guys have the IAC as part of the housing, using a later one with the 4 in-a-row connector, would do the same trick.

I'm not going to say it's the answer for everyone, but for me, it was well worth the $$.

Later, as in what original application(s)?
Thanks

I replaced my IAC a while ago with a super high tech Nike size 13. With an automatic there isn't much challenge in driving so I've given my right foot something extra to do .
Actually, I think the IAC that came on the Holley TBI that I'm using is fubar. I've yet to do an RPM vs Steps chart but I'm betting this sucker is flowing some high flow at low openings.
So what are the differences in response, flow vs steps, quality, etc. I can't really see how they're all that different and are you saying the flat 4 IAC will screw into a TBI? If so, and I see one at the j-yard I'll pick it up and try.
