i am certain i disabled the EGR in bin per recommendation made a while back.

will double check tonight when i leave office.

i have no EGR.

if one neglected to remove it in bin what does the ECU do to the fueling and does it modify spark during the EGR cycle?

i just ran across a topic that stated someone removed EGR but did not do so in tune and car surges as a result. my car surges periodically for reasons that i feel are not related to EGR.

I use the 730 ECM, and just by taking it out does not mean that the ECM is ignoring the EGR. I had to uncheck it in the switchs window, then turn the enable temp way up (254*C)so the ECM is not "looking" for any EGR. If I didnt do it this way, I still would have EGR enabled, but just would not throw a code. There was some writing of this posted by Grumpy, I believe.

The first time, I just flipped the switch, and had problems, but after raising the enable temp, all was good.

I have no problems at all with it totally gone. No surging, etc. HTH.

8D uses egr in the VE calc. So by not disabling it, you'd run lean when egr was called. And with the flag turned off. More than likely the ecm would never skip the egr code since it would never do a deadnostic check on it. I'd imagine this would make for some odd blm entries....
No idea how a TBI code handles fuel and egr.

Brutal just posted in another thread:
