Well I've been reading the posts, but I've got to go to court this comming monday (for the car in my sig) and my car (yellow '85 camaro) is running way too rich and won't idle at all or run very well. I've got an '85 camaro so it uses the $1F mask, but I can't seem to find any support for the $1F ecu/xdf file except tunercat (they do have it right?). There is an EPROM in it and not just a PROM right? I ordered the pocket programmer and the UV eraser, but they were out of the 2732 chips that I needed so I thought I'd use my own. I can do that right? they aren't soldered in? I was thinking of trying one of those '85 vette bin files, but will I have to change something for AFR seeing how I am running 30lb/hr injectors?

I swapped a 350 in and it's all custom and built by me. I didn't realize I would have to reprogram the ECM at the time. It's got a custom, dual pattern cam (per dynosim), self-ported heads (they were 76cc heads, but had them cut .006" so I'm probably getting about 9.0 or higher compression), previously had and still has short headers connected to a flowmaster exhaust, stock intake for now because of money limitations but will get the holley stealth ram later, arp bolts in the rods, slightly used LT1 pistons I pulled from my other project engine which still has a way to go, and of course 30lb/hr injectors. When I first started using the calculation programs, they were showing I should get 28lb/hr and later I checked the ones that let you put in a % load and I used 80 because that's what was recommended and got 32lb/hr. Called Accel and they said that's too much and to just get 30lb/hr so that's what I got, I'm looking at about 400HP after I get that holley intake.

I just installed the demo for tunercat and seeing how I am 30 days to evaluate it, can I buy the $1F ecu file from tunercat and justprogram it that way or do I have to buy the $70 program before I can get it. That ecu definition file is for the ecu right and not the bin file? TunerPro seems to support every ecu, but the '85s unless someone has an ecu file they can post or email me? This is temporary till I get an '86-'89 ecm and rewire my car for it. I realize those 30 lb/hr injectors were alittle overkill now, but oh well. I had some 20's (previous owner upgraded them 1 lb/hr and got the accel brand which is what the new ones are) in there before I swapped them out so I'm kinda stuck. I will get an air/fuel ratio meter as soon as I can to make sure I don't go too lean. Those work with 1 wire O2 sensors right?

Here's a power curve (that's TPI used for intake not standard single-plane) from dynosim if it helps at all:

Injector Constant and your MAF Scalars.

do a search on those terms, they are the biggest influences by far.

Dont waste time with an air fuel meter unless it is one of the few out there that uses a true wideband ixygen sensro, not a one wire in this case.

Get a true wideband.

If u search on all these terms you will find more info than u can shake a stick at.

Also the "tuning guide" above has a ton of info and answeres u are looking for.

Might have to do a little extra diggin since u run a 85 TPI mask.

later
