need help with burning

need help with burning

okay, im about to buy some burning equiptment and talked to xtronics and they said i need to figure out what chip i have first??? It's in a 92 chevy truck with a 16146299 ecm.... how do i figure out what part number he needs?? I want the romulator so i can burn on the fly and possibly get the pocket programmer so i can burn a final chip... is this what you guys do??
any help is greatful quickly so i can order before they leave today.. thanks!

Stock uses 2732a chips i beelive. (You will need a UV earser if you want to try to use these.)

If you get a moates adaptor, you will use at29c256 or 27sf512 chips. these are electornicly earsable, so you will not need a UV earser.

With the price of the new stuff out now, I would suggested getting something that isn't so time consuming as burning every chip, the emulating stuff isn't really anymore money that doing it the 'old way'.

sweet, thanks... no i dont want to pull chips in and out everytime to make a change... xtronics wanted to know what chip type i had so they could tell me wether to get the romulator I OR II...
should i get the pocket programmer with this so when i do have my truck dialed in i can just burn the exact chip and pull the romulater out???

You may want to do that. If you are going to be spending that much money, you might look into the autoprom, or ostrich or, even get the Burn1 from Moates, with the cost of the PPII, and a romulator, there are a lot of other options.
