I powered up my ECM tonight with a scanner hooked up. Key on engine off I show NO for 1st gear, and YES for 2nd 3rd and 4th. My guess is that my 4th gear switch in the trans is reverse of what it wants to see. I think I'll try setting $8016 b2 to 1.

Also, regardless of where my HVAC controls are, I show an A/C request = yes all the time.

Ok I figured out the HVAC thing and the A/C request.

I have VATS disabled thru $8016 b4, but the scanner shows VATS = yes.

It also shows air diverter = yes.

I'm using and old OTC scanner for the time being. I haven't got Tuner Pro's datalogger working yet.

 

The scanner is probably looking at the VATs status.
If vats fails, it sets a bit IIRC and zero fuel etc.
So no bit set.....
There was a big discussion a while back on AIR.
Try SMasterson for a search. Maybe Traxion.
