injectors not spraying

1. hooked up input from map sensor to Innovate WB.

2. used the wrong wire. spliced into the input(4V) to sensor. should have spliced into the output to ECU. oh well. ign is off and WB was off. no sparking either at each end.

3. next morning car cranks but does not fire. i remove wire and same.

4. checked for gas and inj = no fire.

5. check fuse ign 1 and 2. all fine. same with FP fuse. ign on i dont hear FP humming? i will jump ALDL tonight and try again.

any idea how this can happen?

If everything was off, then there shouldn't be a problem. However, if you mean you grounded the 5v MAP lead then you may have toasted the ecm.

Before you get too ahead of yourself, do you have spark?. You need a DRP (Distributor Reference Pulse), for fuel and spark if you have spark then that's *usually* a good indicator of the module-etc., being alive.

the dead fuel pump sounds, like a fuse, power problem. But, that's not what you were tieing too.

If it's nothing obvious, then just start with basics. Fuel/ spark/ compression.

that lead went to Innovate auxillary input cable connection to Innovate Unit. there are 5 pins available. i just used next one in line. the ground pin is already used as i had the tps and rpm functioning already.

if ECM bad would that not throw error code? i have none. swapped in a diff eprom. still no error code.

I'm not sure on how the power supply is shared, but, if that same 5v was supposted to feed the processor, or all the *logic* of the ecm, then no codes would be *normal*. But, that's getting ahead of the basics of trouble shooting what you got, first.

i double checked fuses last night. inj 1+2, ECU, and FP all ok.

jumped the ground to "G" in ALDL connector. no FP hhuuummmm. no pressure at gauge.

i ran win aldl with ign on. all sensor data shows.

cranked engine. in winaldl no DRP shows. should it not show on crank? coincidence the FP just died? GM 2 years new.

2 weeks ago the POS cable from alternator to battery melted from 2 years of heat and took out the ALT and fuse link. i woonder if other wires are shorted?

how does one test ECU? again no CE light. no codes in win ALDL cept rich on crank???

any advise?
