will different gears need to be accounted for in my bin?
i am using my stock bin to do my mods, which had 2.77 gears from factory, im thinking that since ive swapped to 3.42 gears, would i need to modify my TCC lockup tables in my bin? thanks

It depends on how you do it. If you cheap out and don't spend the extra $15 worth of parts to recalibrate your speedo then yes, you'll need to change the TCC and just about every other value related to mph because now the ecm won't be "seeing" the actual mph. Now if you do the swap the right way and get the gears for the vss that match your new gears then no, you will not need to modify the things related to mph but it would help if you did. By installing gears your engine will now rev like it hasn't before and it'll have more mechanical leverage over the car's resistance. Take a look at how GM made the changes between bin's that have the "performance" gears and those that didn't.
Personally I've noticed steeper gears allow you to run less AE at lower RPMs, kind of the same effect that a higher stall TC has.
